Plas yn Llangoed Eco Camping Anglesey

It’s our second year of eco camping, our destination is in Anglesey and would love you to come and stay and experience the island, it is a truly special place.

Plas yn Llangoed is a new eco campsite just 3 miles from Beaumaris on the Isle of Anglesey with views across the Menai Strait to Snowdonia. We are a small family-run seasonal campsite with grass tent pitches and hard standing campervan pitches offering a family friendly camping experience and our approach is relaxed and environmentally conscious.

When you stay with us you will be pitched up in the front field of the Old House.  We have space for 15 pitches which includes 11 tent pitches, 2 fixed Bell Tents and 2 campervan pitches or sites. We have quiet time between 22 hours and 0700 hours. You park your vehicle in the designated parking area, as it’s simply tents in the field and we give you a wheel barrow to make your trip to your tent a smooth carry.

We are part of the Greener Camping Club to book with us you need to be a member and ask that at least one person on each pitch is a member of the GCC, the cost of this is just £12 for the year. The annual subscription means that you can enjoy some of the best campsites in the UK. Membership generally runs from 1st January - 31st December (though membership purchased after 1st September will run to the end of the following year) so please check that your current membership is still valid before booking. Where We are

We have outstanding views across the Menai Strait to Snowdonia and we’ve beautiful beaches nearby to visit. There is an abundance of wildlife on our doorstep, you will see the buzzards flying high, hear the woodpeckers drilling for insects, bats flying at dusk and the owls hooting in the evening. We a perfect destination to see the dark skies full of stars at night.

Emily, Trig, Dan and Lizzie look forward to welcoming you to Plas yn Llangoed this summer and being part of our eco venture.

As we live in an area of outstanding natural beauty, it is very important to have as little negative impact on the environment as possible. We are custodians of the space we are lucky enough to live in and have a responsibility to do our best to leave the world in at least no worse state than we find it.

Setting up an eco-campsite is out contribution to providing a more environmentally friendly approach to holidaying on the island. We tried to weave as much of the eco ethos into the build as possible.  One of the things we like to do is repurpose materials. For example, the toilets and showers have all been hand-made and built using reclaimed pallets.   Many of the facilities that form part of the communal areas have been made from repurposed materials on the site.

We use as many eco-friendly products as possible. e.g., bamboo toilet roll and ‘Faith in Nature’ shower gel, shampoo and washing up liquid.

Eco

Around the campsite we have replanted hedges and laid new hedges too. Did you know the demise of the local bat was due to lots of hedges being ripped out and replaced by fences, bats use hedges like motorways systems to navigate for food and shelter?

We have left wild areas with stacks of logs for bug hotels (we don’t charge them as the bugs do so much for conservation). I adore delicate wildflowers and so have planted lots of them with ferns too for you to enjoy. So you can see the natural environment is super important to leave as nature made it. We hope you can enjoy it too.

No Pooches allowed. We are surrounded by fields with horses and cattle and dogs tend to upset the natural balance of this.
